July 10–14 – All-Church Campout
We’ve reserved the Big Elk group campground off Palisades Reservoir—this time earlier in the summer!
- Come for the whole weekend, or just join us for Saturday beach fun and BBQ, or Sunday’s worship service and lakeside fellowship.
- We’ll be camping at the Big Elk Group Campground again, the directions are below and printed out at church. It will be the same set up as the last two years, all in the B loop area and a big tent for the worship service/eating/fellowship. There are vault toilets in the campground. Check in time is 2:00 Thursday, check out is 12:00 Monday, so there’s no rush to pack up and head out on Sunday afternoon. We’ve had a lot of fun with kayaks, paddleboards and floating lounges in addition to motor boats. The earlier date this year means the water should be good for the boats to put in. If you want more information on bringing a boat, let me know and I’ll get you in touch with someone way more knowledgeable than myself. At the end of the road is a hiking trail. Even if you love the comfort of your own home for sleeping, please come fellowship with us Saturday and Sunday. Sunday morning we will have the worship service followed by a brunch potluck. There will not be a service at the church building that morning.
- New this year, we will have a pancake brunch immediately after the worship service, which the service will be moved back to 11:00am to make it easier for people to get there. We are still having our regular Saturday night barbeque as well. The church will provide the pancakes on Sunday and the burgers, dogs and a veggie option and all the toppings that go on them for Saturday. Please bring a side or dessert to share. Keep it simple. You will be on your own for the rest of your meals and drinks.
- After dinner on Saturday night, we will have a time of singing praise around a campfire. Bring camp chairs if you have them. We’ll have some folding chairs as well. I will send out another email as we get closer with potluck signups, anything else that comes up or questions that are asked.
August 10 – Picnic and Teton River Float
On August 10, we will have a picnic and float on your own down the Teton River. This is especially sweet when we get to celebrate a the baptism of a brother or sister in Christ. We head to the Big Eddy (also known as Rainey Bridge) campground and boat ramp after the worship service, meet at the east end of the campground (park where you can in the campground) and fellowship over picnic lunches. The river runs right by here, and is the spot where the water immersion of the baptism takes place.
If you are interested in floating the river afterwards, please be mindful of the group size limit of 15 and launch groups of that size 15 minutes apart from each other to be a good witness to our surrounding community.
What to bring that day:
- picnic lunch
- sun protection
- camp chairs or picnic blankets
- plenty of of water
Maps will be available that morning.

September 21 – Picnic & Hike
After the worship service, we’ll gather at a trailhead (location TBD), enjoy a picnic lunch, and then head out for a hike to soak in God’s creation.
All ages welcome! Bring a lunch, water, and a heart ready for adventure.
